Home Energy Conservation
When you complete an energy audit and receive an evaluation of your home’s current energy use, you’ll be given an energy rating, using the Natural Resources Canada’s EnerGuide Rating System. An EnerGuide rating is a standard measure of your home’s energy performance. Your home’s energy efficiency level will be rated on a scale of 0 to 100. A rating of 0 represents a home with major air leakage, no insulation and extremely high energy consumption. A rating of 100 represents a house that is airtight, well insulated, sufficiently ventilated and incorporates highest efficiency equipment.The higher the score, the more energy efficient your home is.
Enbridge Incentives Effective June 03/2021
Furnace or Boiler upgrade
- $250 - Replace an existing natural gas furnace with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) that is less than 96 percent with a condensing natural gas furnace with an AFUE rating of 96 percent or higher.To qualify for the furnace rebate, you must complete three (3) total upgrades.
- $1000 - Replace an existing natural gas boiler with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) that is less than 90 percent with a condensing natural gas boiler with an AFUE rating of 90 percent or higher.Combi systems qualify for this rebate†.
$40 for Windows,Door,Skylight upgrade
For each window, door or skylight replaced with ENERGY STAR® qualified model.
$400 for Water Heater upgrade
- Replace existing natural gas water heater with an ENERGY STAR® certified tank type natural gas water heater with an Energy Factor (EF) rating of 0.77 or higher or with a Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) rating of 0.80 or higher. Or, replace existing natural gas water heater with an ENERGY STAR® certified tankless natural gas water heater with a Uniform Energy Factor (UEF) rating of 0.87 or higher.A combo system (water heater driven combination system) qualifies for one $400 rebate**.
Attic Insulation
- $750 - Increase attic insulation from R-35 or less to at least R-60
- $650 - Increase cathedral/flat roof insulation by at least R14
Basement Insulation
- $750 - Add at least R12 to 100% of basement wall
- $1250 - Add at least R-23 to 100% of basement wall
- $1000 - Add at least R23 to 100% of crawl space wall
- $500 - Add at least R12 to 100% of crawl space wall
- $1000 - Add at least R32 to 100% of floor above crawl space
Exterior Wall Insulation
- $1,000 - Add at least R3.8 to 100% of building to achieve a minimum of R12
- $1,750 - Add at least R9 for 100% of building to achieve a minimum of R12
- $3,000 - Add at least R-20 for 100% of building
Air Sealing
- $100 : Achieve the base target determined during your home energy assessment
- $150 : Achieve 10% or more above the base target determined during your home energy assessment
Get $150 Bonus : Install three upgrades
Get $500 Bonus : Install four upgrades
Get $750 Bonus : Install five or more upgrades
Plus : Insulate 100% of your basement for an additional $500 bonus rebate
Audit Cost
- $600 for two times audit
- $600 will be send back to the customer with the final cheque (Upon completion of the program)
